Ibrahim Maalouf - Trumpets of Michelangelo - CD
Ibrahim unveils his 16th studio album “Trumpets of Michel-Ange”
"Trumpets of Michel-Ange" is much more than a new album: it is the first stone of a vast educational edifice which ultimately aims to make accessible to everyone the atypical instrument that he has always played and invented by his father more than half a century ago: the 1/4 tone trumpet.
"Symbolically, this album celebrates the transmission between generations, but also love, family and all these universal values that are being lost in our time," explains Ibrahim. "Concretely, it is also an opportunity for me to realize my father's dream of sharing his brilliant invention with the whole world through unifying, festive and emotional compositions."
On this 16th album, Ibrahim wanted to collaborate exclusively with instrumentalists: from New Orleans star Trombone Shorty, to jazz double bassist Endea Owens (Detroit), including his friends Toumani Diabaté, Sidiki Diabaté, Matthieu Chedid and Golshifeth Farahani.
