Ibrahim Maalouf - Trumpets of Michel-Ange - CD
Ibrahim Maalouf reveals his 16th studio album, "Trumpets of Michel-Ange".
"Trumpets of Michel-Ange" is much more than a new album: it is the cornerstone of a vast educational project that ultimately aims to make accessible to everyone the unique instrument he has always played, invented by his father more than half a century ago: the quarter-tone trumpet.
“Symbolically, this album celebrates the transmission between generations, as well as love, family, and all those universal values that are being lost in our time,” explains Ibrahim. “Practically, it is also an opportunity for me to realize my father's dream of sharing his brilliant invention with the world through unifying, festive, and emotional compositions.”
For this 16th studio album, Ibrahim wanted to collaborate exclusively with instrumentalists: from New Orleans star Trombone Shorty to jazz double bassist Endea Owens (Detroit), as well as his friends Toumani and Sidiki Diabaté, Matthieu Chedid, and Golshifeth Farahani.
